The U.S. Department of State in Washington DC – invited Ivan Owen – one of the original creators of the first 3D printed “Mech Hand,” to speak during their “Showcasing the Bioeconomy: The Future is Now” conference” on Monday.
He was able to share how ideas and designs are being shared globally and collaborations are taking place from thousands of miles apart and that 3D printing has great potential to change a lot of lives.
He took a Talon Hand 2.0 with him to show how 3D printing has given people all over the World who were born without or have lost fingers- the ability to simply print them out or have others print them for them.
It is a huge step toward making sure that “Important” people see the good that can come from 3D printing – and how it can help our struggling economy get back on it’s feet.
“Without continual growth and progress, such words as improvement, achievement, and success have no meaning”. – Benjamin Franklin
