Designed by David Orgeman, the Second Degree Hand is for indiviuals with a funcitoning thumb, but no fingers.  This design supports both radioulnar deviation (lateral motion) and flexion and extension of the wrist, allowing some degree of control of the closing sequence of the fingers.  Additionally, the Second Degree Hand’s fingers are able to close with some independence from each other when gripping an object.  David demonstrates this nicely in the video below.  The Second Degree Hand is licensed under a Creative Commons-Attribution-Share Alike license.
